Acne will most likely start fading in your early 20’s. However, for a smaller percentage of people, acne will persist into adulthood.

Acne is the one of the most common skin conditions that occurs in adolescents. Over 90% of males, and 80% of females are affected. Acne peaks during puberty due to hormonal influences that contribute to oil production.

Acne typically starts to resolve in your early 20’s. Up to 25% of women and 12% of men may continue to have blemishes into their 40’s. Fortunately, even then the blemishes are likely to be significantly less than during the teenage years. Many of the same treatments are used to treat both teenage and adult acne.
