Sunscreen plays the most important role in protecting the skin from ultraviolet (UV) rays and other environmental damage which can worsen or cause hyperpigmentation.
As we always say in dermatology, the best sunscreen is the one you’ll actually use every single day. When choosing a sunscreen for hyperpigmentation, opt for a product with broad-spectrum protection, SPF of 30 or higher. Tinted sunscreens are also ideal as they provide extra coverage from visible light while helping to even out skin tone. Look for "iron oxides" in the ingredient list.
