Azelaic acid works on the breakout and the dark spot.
Azelaic acid has been prescribed by dermatologists for decades. It is one of the very few actives with published data on blemishes, discoloration and redness at once.

Breakouts
Works on the inflammation behind a breakout, not just the surface.
Dark spots
Interrupts the pigment production that leaves a dark spot behind.
Redness
Targets the inflammation that keeps surface redness visible.
Complete Breakout to Dark Spot Routine
Clear the breakout, then fade the mark it leaves.
The cleanser and serum work on breakouts as they happen. The nightly treatment goes after the dark spots they leave behind, so you treat the whole cycle, not just the flare-up. Finish every morning with SPF.

The science was always good. The texture finally caught up.
Traditionally, azelaic serums have been gritty. The acid does not dissolve in water or oil, so it stays suspended as solid particles.
We dis(solved) it.
Fully solubilized means the acid is dissolved into the liquid itself, so there are no particles left. It spreads clear and feels like water.
Traditional azelaic acid formulas can contain suspended particles. That's the grit.
Solubilized for a smooth, water-light feel. No grit.
A smarter solvent system.
Getting azelaic acid to a water-light texture takes a solvent. Propylene glycol and alcohol will do it, but both are associated with irritation.
We use ethoxydiglycol instead, chosen for its low irritancy profile.

What people say after using it.
I struggle with adult acne and this serum visibly reduced redness from post acne after just a few applications. It felt nice on my skin and didn’t interfere with any of my other products or when layering under makeup.
Lynn C.
I know about redness and I've tried allllll of the Azelaic Acid serums… This serum did not disappoint. It is smooooth. Zero grit. Not sticky.
Lili, pre-launch consumer study participant
The texture is unlike any azelaic acid product I’ve tried before… After using it, my skin looked clearer, brighter, and overall much healthier.

Questions, answered.
Will this help the dark spots I already have, or only the new ones?
Both. Azelaic acid works on tyrosinase, the enzyme behind excess pigment, so it helps fade the look of dark spots you already have and helps stop new ones from settling in after a breakout. Dark spots are the slowest thing to change, so give it 4 to 8 weeks of steady use.
Do I still need a separate acne product?
Often not. Azelaic acid works on blemishes as well as dark spots and redness, which is why it can replace a two-product routine. The Gel-to-Foam Cleanser in the routine adds salicylic acid for pores. If a dermatologist has you on a prescription, keep using it and add this alongside.
How is this different from a 15% prescription?
Prescription azelaic acid is a drug, usually a thick gel or cream. This is a cosmetic serum: 10% pure azelaic acid plus 5% potassium azeloyl diglycinate, a water-soluble form, fully dissolved so it feels like water instead of grit. It is not a prescription product and is not meant to replace one your doctor has prescribed.
Will it work on my skin tone?
Yes. Azelaic acid is a go-to for all skin tones because it targets the overactive pigment behind dark spots rather than lightening your natural skin tone. It is formulated for all skin types and tested on sensitive skin.
Can I use this with tretinoin or retinol?
Yes. It layers well with retinoids. If your skin runs reactive, use the serum on its own for the first week, then bring your retinoid back in. A simple split is azelaic acid in the morning and your retinoid at night.
Can I combine it with vitamin C and copper peptides?
Yes. It pairs with vitamin C and copper peptides. Introduce one new product at a time. The one thing to avoid is applying it at the same time as strong AHA or BHA exfoliants.
Morning, night, or both?
Either works. Start once a day and build to twice as your skin adjusts. After cleansing, apply a dime-size amount to dry skin, let it dry down, then moisturize. In the morning, finish with sunscreen.
How long before I see anything?
Blemishes tend to respond first, around 2 weeks. Redness around 4. Dark spots are the slowest, 4 to 8 weeks, and the most worth waiting for. Results build with continued use.
